Inspired by Henry S. Montgomery's safety numerical watch dial introduced in 1910, South Bend's Montgomery Dial was used in railroad-grade movements trusted to keep trains running safely and on time. Described as a dial "that almost speaks the time" the Montgomery Dial features numerals at each minute to ensure that the wearer knows the exact time at a glance in any situation.
Each of our watches is assembled by hand in the U.S.A. and features a modern interpretation of the hand-wound mechanical movements found in South Bend pocket watches of the early twentieth century. The decorated movement is proudly displayed in through the case back, along with the highly decorated plating and South Bend branding.
Our high quality leather straps are handmade in South Bend, Indiana by 3Bravo Leather. We obsess over details, which is why we include a purple stitch the inside of each strap as a nod to the South Bend Watch Company's tagline: The Watch with the Purple Ribbon.
