Inspired by Henry S. Montgomery's safety numerical watch dial introduced in 1910, South Bend's Montgomery Dial was used in railroad-grade movements trusted to keep trains safely moving across the country. Described as a dial "that almost speaks the time", the Montgomery Dial features numerals at each minute to ensure that the wearer knows the exact time at a glance in any situation.
Each of our watches is assembled by hand in the U.S.A. and features a modern interpretation of the hand-wound mechanical movements found in South Bend pocket watches of the early 1900s. The inner workings of this ticking time machine can be seen in action through the exhibition case back, along with the highly decorated plating and South Bend branding on each movement.
Our high quality leather straps are handmade in South Bend, Indiana by 3Bravo Leather. Details matter, which is why we include a purple stitch the inside of each strap as a nod to South Bend's tagline: The Watch with the Purple Ribbon.
